Low Ionic Strength Saline Additive Reagent (LISS 2)
Some laboratories find it convenient to make a simple addition of a LISS reagent to the washed cells and serum. The addition of 2 drops of LISS 2 to the mixture of red cells and serum gives a low ionic environment for antigen/antibody reactions. There is no requirement to wash the red cells and support them in standard LISS solution.
