LIQ-A-TEC - simple, effective Liquor amnii detection


Liq a Tec LIQ-A-TEC is a simple and rapid test kit used for the detection of amniotic fluid. The kit is designed to detect amniotic fluid on the patient's sanitary towel or on a vaginal swab should a speculum be inserted. The results can be used as an aid to confirm spontaneous rupture of the membranes.

This Kit is the outcome of considerable research and development by Inverclyde Biologicals on both the active reagent and the simple methodology. The method employs the use of dropper bottles and sterile swabs. The swabs are not pre-impregnated.

The kit will differentiate between urine, vaginal secretions, blood and amniotic fluid. The test can be carried out and the colour reactions obtained within a few seconds

The kit won the prestigious award of 'Highly Commended' in the Medical and Academia section of the John Logie Baird National Awards of 2001.

This is a prize much sought after since only two companies receive an award in the Medical and Academia section.
